Hey there, my name is Aaron Rolston!
Yep, just like the trapped rock-climber in that one movie you probably never saw. I'm a lifelong creator that never really wants to retire — honestly, I have the best job on earth, so why stop? From portraits of friends, to folk music, to photos in magazines, and now films, there's quite the Internet paper-trail that leads to two facts: I love to create, and I love people.
I married a wonderful woman named Adrianne in my parents' backyard at the start of 2018. With only about thirty friends & family members present (and some glorious breakfast food), it was absolutely the best day of my life.
Tampa, FL is home, but it's in my blood to explore, so I jump at any chance I get to see the world. Top 3 places I'd love to shoot weddings: New Zealand, South Africa, & Japan.
A self-proclaimed coffee addict, minimalism fanatic, and follower of Jesus. Let's grab a coffee + talk about your wedding!
But, about you...
Your story, your passions, your marriage to the person of your dreams. This is what we're about as Kindred. We exist simply to capture the happiest day of your life, and make it into the most spectacular film that we can muster.
There are plenty of other wedding videographers out there who would do absolutely anything to "get the sale"... but frankly, we're not about that. You're not a paycheck, you're a person, and we value you over your money. We want to work with people who are deeply in love with each other, who seek to lead extraordinary lives, and who care about quality more than getting the best deal.
Now, we're not going to capture the exact same things as your photographer — we want to capture the un-posed, un-rehearsed moments that you'll easily forget about...
Laughing at that inside joke with your maid of honor; the tears you shed with your fiancé when you hug each other's parents; the serendipitous, unexpected moments at your venue that make you chuckle; the cake fight that will inevitably happen. Our greatest success would be for you to almost forget that we're even at your wedding.
Here's what we believe.
We believe in the age-old mantra of "just be nice." We're human, just like you — which means we're not made of money, sometimes forget passwords, and probably drink too much coffee. But, we love our jobs, and do our very best with what we've got to make amazing movies that touch hearts.
There's nothing glamorous about pretending to be someone you're not. We're in the business of documenting the stories of real people who have personalities and quirks and shortcomings — trust us, you're in good company.
Love is the grandest adventure of all, so why limit the bounds of how you express it? Whether you're planning an Italian mountaintop elopement, intimate Florida beach party, or getting hitched at the little Presbyterian church up the road — we're game for the grand, and for the simple.
You've got questions, I've got answers.
Why do you only offer one package?
By offering only a select few premium services, it ensures that every last item on your videography wishlist is ticked, and that I'm able to create the best possible film to capture your wedding day.
Are you actually filming our wedding, or some other person you hire?
I (Aaron) will be the one shooting your wedding! All video content on this site is mine, so you can rest assured that you're in good hands.
Can we meet you before hiring you?
Absolutely! Most people opt for a quick FaceTime call, although... I'm always down to grab a bite to eat or a coffee if proximity permits. Just fill out the connect form on the next page, and we'll set up a time to talk!
How long have you been doing this for?
I've been shooting weddings since the start of 2018! So if you notice that I don't have as much work as others, it's because I've been operating for less time than most weddings are planned in! You came at a good time — in a few years (when I'm getting that fifth Oscar Award), you can say "Yeah, I knew him when he only had like half a dozen films."
Are you willing to travel?
Of course! There's nothing I love more than experiencing new cultures, meeting new people, and creating in new, inspiring places. Travel is included within 200 miles round-trip of Tampa, FL. If your wedding is not within those parameters, an additional travel fee will apply. If driving distance is too great, I require accommodation for one round-trip plane ticket, transportation, and stay. I book my own travel.
What's your setup like?
I believe that subtlety is a lost art form. While it would be neat to have a huge production crew, with tons of fancy camera equipment, I like to keep things simple — one backpack-full of gear, and a few small accessories. That way, the focus stays on you and your darling fiancé and I'm not making a mess of your venue.
What are your film inspirations?
Firstly, I believe that there's something just spectacularly whimsical about Wes Anderson's style of storytelling — "Moonrise Kingdom" is one of my absolute favorites. Furthermore, J.J. Abrams' use of light is jaw-dropping, Christopher Nolan hits you in the brain feels, and let's be real... Pixar movies make us all who we really are.
